Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is employed to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message can be sent from one address, but to appear as being sent from a different, typically with the idea to scam the recipient someway. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a specific record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record contains all of the email servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an e-mail address part of the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and if its sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target receiver. When, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message won't be sent and it will be discarded. In case you employ this solution, it'll stop third parties from sending spam emails that seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection attribute is available with all the Linux semi-dedicated services, so if you host your domain names in an account on our cloud web hosting platform, you can use this service with ease for all of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a quite user-friendly interface, therefore you do not need to be tech-savvy in order to secure your email addresses. You'll only have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be permitted to send e-mails from your addresses and immediately after that the new record will be activated for the domain name that you have selected. As a further option, we will also allow you to restrict your outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes further by permitting messages to be sent only when the domain in question has our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain have to be handled on our end and not by another company. By doing this you will enjoy even better control and there won't be a chance for somebody to fake your email addresses for harmful uses.
